Transforming lives since 1951.............
The history of Umri Christian Hospital is a thrilling experience of God's continuous leading and guidance through the past 75 plus years. It is a history of humble sacrifices and dedication of several overseas medical missionaries, native medical doctors, nurses, administrators, technicians, departmental staff, board members and financial supporters. It is a history of constant hard work, concern and care for the sick people and for their souls, and is the answer to the prayers of many prayer warriors.
Umri Christian is a registered charitable public trust and society. Umri Christian Hospital also manages Yardy English Medium School and Helen Rose Training College of Nursing.
The Miraculous Healing (only Jesus can give says Shilpa)
On 24th Jan a lady by name Shilpa who had consumed poison was admitted in the hospital. After emergency care she was shifted to ICU. The next day she developed respiratory problems and was put on ventilator. Days passed, but no improvement was shown by her. The doctors did their best and provided her the best possible care they could give. At times the doctors tried to remove the ventilator but they had to put her back on the ventilator as she could not breathe on her own and her condition deteriorated further more.
But God in His time, answered prayers and she was restored to us miraculously. We continued to pray for her complete recovery. Not only Christ recovered her completely but also transformed her life. Eventually she joined UCH as an OPD Assistant and she grew in christ.....
Amol, a 19-year-old youth from a remote village 150 kms from Umri was admitted in our hospital in Sep 2015 with Tuberculosis. He was very thin and emaciated and there was little hope for his survival. We prayed with him and gradually he and his parents started believing. After 9 months of treatment he came back to us, having gained 12 Kgs! He confesses that it is Jesus Christ only who saved him and he will never forget Christ in his life.
KANDU is the first beliver from a Mission field in Maharashtra. He was an instrument in God’s hand earlier and God had used him to bring many souls, approximately 2000 people, to Christ. Around Jan 2016 he was diagnosed with cancer in the kidney. Since he is poor and from a tribal background, he could not afford to go to a city hospital. A senior Missionary brought him to our hospital. Even though the facilities at UCH are limited, we took his case as a challenge and called an Anesthetist from Tamil Nadu to help.. He also had associated diseases like high blood pressure and blood sugar. We prayed much for him. When the abdomen was opened it was found that the tumor had spread to many organs like intestine, spleen and lung-diaphragm. If we removed the Cancerous parts there would be the chance of uncontrollable bleeding and other complications. It looked impossible. At that very time the Anesthetist’s father called us and asked about the situation. On hearing about the bleak picture, he started praying. We also prayed before proceeding. Within 1 hour everything was cleared in a miraculous way. The whole tumor along with one kidney was removed. He did not have any complications in the postoperative ward and went home, praising God. In the cities it would have cost him a phenomenal amount but he was charged very little.
Mathew 25: 40 “The King will reply,`I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”
